This guy goes by the name of Rachi, but many people call him Big Rah or just Rah.
It all started when he got the DeLaSoul "3 feet high and rising" album that just came out, as a gift for his birthday. He liked everything about this music, the beats, the rhymes and ofcourse that scratching sound. After listening to rap music for a while he decided to experiment on his own. A friend introduced him to this guy called Alfobetic and together they started writing rhymes and do a few performances.
Somewhere around 1994 he hooked up with a crew called Deadly Maniacs and did shows all over Holland. During this time he also featured on the Family Jewels album and later on the Phat Pockets album. From this point on he got involved in several projects with different producers and rappers and did opening acts for artists like The Roots and Jeru The Damaja.
Then he started messing around with a new crew called the Imadodattaz. At this stage he starts to get more interested in the turntables instead of the mic. After a lot of practice he is now behind the turntables supporting the Imadodattaz, showcasing and entering DJ competitions. In 1997 he takes 1st place at the Numark "Scratch to the edge" battle and in 2000 he takes 1st place at the DMC "Battle for Dutch supremacy".
After not competing for a while in any DJ battle, Rachi decides to pick up some stuff he had laying around and enter the 2005 DMC Dutch DJ Championship where he took 2nd place. In 2006 Rachi does his thing and takes the DMC Dutch Championship title. In London at the 2006 DMC World DJ Championship Rachi manages to survive the eliminations and makes it to the finals.
